West Tennessee Fall ID: Quick Hits
November 18, 2024
JACKSON, TN - The Prep Baseball West Tennessee Fall ID was held on Sunday, November 10th at Union University in Jackson, TN. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan during simulated innings. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.
Continuing our post-event coverage for the event, we take a look at the top performers from the West Tennessee Fall ID. Please be sure to continue to check back as we release other leaderboards from the event, along with the scouting reports on all players in attendance.

QUICK HITS
Braydin Jones: Our staff got a very exciting look at the sophomore out of the University School of Jackson. Jones already looks the part of a high level ballplayer at an extremely physical 6 '2 and 190lbs, he was impressive early running a 7.04 60 yard dash in soggy conditions. Continuing through the workout portion of the showcase he showed off a 91 mph arm across the diamond with a grace in fielding the ball of somebody well advanced of his years. At the dish he lit up both the blast and trackman readings with 75 mph average bat speed and 89/96 average and max exit velos. He would not be done however, as he would be 88-89 with the FB off the bump with present feel for multiple offspeed offerings. All 3 of his pitches have the potential to be plus offerings in their own right. Exciting stuff for Jones who has already been a major contributor to his HS squad.

Showing off the second half of his game, Jones shows off a quick but powerful swing that oozes confidence. Looks the part in the infield as well, with smooth actions.

Big time showing from the ‘27 grad on the bump, showing electric stuff with a heavy FB up to 89 with two plus potential off-speed pitches already.
One to keep an eye on 👀👀

Brayden Holland: We got a great look at the 2024 State Champion from Briarcrest Christian School in ‘27 grad Brayden Holland. Holland, who was a contributor down the stretch on their championship run, showcased increased strength and solid improvements on measurables at Union University during the West TN Fall ID. During the Memphis Summer ID earlier this year, Holland had a 76 velo from behind the dish, and was 83 (86 across the infield) with a 1.95 on November 10th. He shows a loose and quick swing, while having good barrel accuracy and the ability to drive the ball out front. The young catcher has already shown the ability to show up when the lights are brightest, and is definitely one to keep an eye on as he gets deeper into his high school career.

Mason Woods: One of two very exciting two way prospects present at the West TN Fall ID, Woods, who is currently the #2 ranked LHP in the state and also shows great upside potential at the dish was exciting during his workout. Standing at an impressive 6’4 and listed at 180 pounds, Woods moves very well for his size with a 7.12 60 yard dash. On the offensive side, he makes great use of his long levers and will develop more strength down the line. Off the mound he moves extremely well sitting 84 with 3 distinct shape and speed offerings (CB,SL and CH). The lefty will look to build upon his already impressive skills as he enters into his sophomore season.

Woods was impressive on both sides of the ball, makes great use of his levers here with a lot of hard hit line drives. Measurable’s will only increase as he gets stronger.

Exciting look at a projectable left-handed arm who sat 84 with present feel for 3 separate secondary offerings with different shapes.

Ethan Pardy: We got a great look at a very athletic freshmen catcher out of Arlington High School in Ethan Pardy. Pardy, who was a member of Team Mississippi at the 2024 Junior Futures Games had a great showing during the West TN Fall Id. He showed a 7.2 60 yard dash, as well as a being 80 across the diamond and 71 behind the dish to the tune of a 1.95 poptime. Still early in his development physically, Pardy shows a lot to be excited about as he looks to begin his HS career on a high note this spring.

Josiah Allen: The Prep Baseball Tennessee staff got an exciting first look at the tall and long frame of the Providence Christian Academy junior Josiah Allen. Listed at 6 '6 and 186 pounds, Allen moves very well at that size, with some inklings of trying to get the hang of it as well. Off the mound he would get up to a heavy 84 with true backspin, which points towards a velo jump in the future. Allen would also show great feel for a traditional curve ball with 12/6 movement, as well as early feel for a changeup. The PCA product will be one to keep an eye on as he looks to continue to develop into his frame.

Lanston Kent: The Freshmen at Saltillo High School would make the trek in the Volunteer State for the West Tn Fall Id, where he would give an exciting first look to our Prep Baseball TN staff. The young infielder and right handed pitcher showed promise on both sides of the ball, with a very exciting look off of the mound. Still developing physically, he showed solid movements in the box that will only improve as he grows. Kent, who was 85 across the infield, would sit 83 off of the bump with a well spun breaking ball and feel for a changeup in the zone. The Mississippi resident will be an exciting one to watch as he continues to grow.
