Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 7.

 

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tommy Baker OF / 2B / South Gibson County High School, TN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 69 / POS: 14 Baker continues his strong play, while steadily trending upwards. For the week, he would go 11/20 (.550 AVG) with 4 2B's, 2 HR's and 9 RBI's. He would also have 3 BB with a .625 OBP and a 1.100 SLG.

 

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Carson Parrott RHP / C / Livingston Academy, TN / 2024 Parrott is new to the weekly Diamond notes and impressed in his 13 innings of work. On Monday, Parrott threw a complete game shutout allowing only two hits with 12 strikeouts against Upperman handing the Bees their only district loss of the season. On Saturday, Parrott struckout fourteen against the Clinton Co. (KY) Bulldogs to pick up his second win of the week while allowing no earned runs. For the week he would rack up an uber impressive state line of 0 ER, 0.00 ERA, 26 K, 5 H, 3 BB and 1 CG.
