Memphis Summer ID: Quick Hits

COLLIERVILLE, TN - The Prep Baseball Tennessee Memphis Summer ID was held on Tuesday, June 18th at Collierville High School. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan during a bullpen setting. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Kicking off our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look at some of the standouts from the event. Below you will find scout notes and video on some of the top performers from the Memphis Summer ID.

QUICK HITS

+ Collin Bland: Bland comes into the Memphis summer ID off of a standout Prep Baseball National Program Invitational where he showed out extremely well with multiple upper 90’s mph EV base knocks. Bland has grown since last summer where he was a 2027 class prospect selected to the Prep Baseball Future Games roster. Bland continues to have a unique blend of power bat to ball skills that are evident when seeing him swing the bat from the left side. Starting with a relaxed open stance, he creates easy tension on his back leg with compact weight distribution as he gets into his swinging motion. Averaged just around 91 mph in terms of EV, while maxing out at 98 EV with a 377 ft shot over right center field. Currently a 1st baseman but I believe is talented enough and with time to be able to move to a corner outfield spot. High upside talent and will be making his second appearance this summer representing Team Tennessee at Future Games.

+ Quinn Showalter: The sturdy Showalter comes in with a well built profile at 6 foot 4 and 210 pounds that already offers present strength and a proportional build. Strong base with long legs that have already started to feel out with built shoulders that should handle velocity increases as he matures in age and feel. Showalter does a great job of staying tall through delivery with a high ¾ arm slot that produces easy velo, with more to come. 3 pitch mix with solid break on both changeup and slider. Fastball with heavy sink plays into righty’s and will produce a lot of weak contact down in the zone. Watch out for Showalter this upcoming summer as he plays for a standout Easley club, being able to play true to his 16u team, while also able to play down with being a very young ‘26 class prospect. At the plate, showed some pop to pull side with quick triggering action of his hips, while showing ability to keep the front side from flying open. Max EV of 98, while averaging right at 87 mph. May have his highest upside on the mound where continued uptick in velocity should be obvious as his body slims out. 

+ Jacob Sallie: Quick twitch athlete that produced the fastest sprint time with a 6.7 sixty. Currently on the smaller side at 5 foot 8 and 145 pounds. Will definitely get more into his power as he matures. Present actions defensively in the infield showing great balance working to both sides of his body. Stays low through the ball working through it with easy actions throwing across the diamond. Arm strength is currently developing with more to come in the future but presents a present floor that should be able to build upon with time. 

+ Brady Fronabarger: The ‘26 class Crockett County product comes in as a top 25 ranked prospect for Tennessee with ability with the bat and on the bump. At 5 foot 11 and 195 pounds, he holds a solid built fondation to build the profile on. Steady and already above average bat speed at 74.6 mph, which led the entire group. Fronabarger has enough traits to profile two-way. Creates easy separation with a shorter knee dominant leg kick back before launching and maintaining connection with his top hand elbow into his back hip through the hitting zone. Present ability to manipulate the barrel, both creating loft to the pull-side and firing line-drives into the gaps. Heavy barrels throughout the round with an average exit velocity of 87.6 mph and tops of 95 mph, which is stronger than we previously saw him back in February. Very hitterish actions overall at the plate, while also being an athletic mover down the mound from the left-side. 

+ Noel LeBlanc: The ‘25 class Lausanne Collegiate product continues to impress and get on our radar. Gave us our first impression a few weeks back at Top-Prospect Games where he showcased an above average fastball and carry up in the zone, with current feel for two off-speed offerings. Comes in at 5 foot 7 and 160 pounds with well above average arm speed and torque in the profile. 7.1 runner in the sixty with quick moving legs that should offer more as he grows in length. Showed some low 90’s mph EV’s with a line drive approach spraying balls to both gaps consistently. Shows some present two-way upside in the outfield popping 90 mph throws to home with exceptional ride with accuracy. Easy arm-speed that projects well on the mound in my opinion with upper 80’s velocity and quality feel for spin. Should be able to produce more velocity on his pitches as he grows and matures and someone to watch in the development process. There is a lot to like with LeBlanc and is an early favorite for me on the summer showcase circuit. 

+ Robert Armes: A 2027 kid that is already advanced for his age in terms of maturity, physicality and approach. Listed at 6 foot 1 and 190 pounds, Armes has present strength with a proportional build that oozes with potential. Showcased really well defensively and at the plate. Armes had a few batted balls in the low 90’s with really athletic traits and a feel for controlling the barrel. Varsity starter this past season as a freshman and is continuing to develop. Smooth actions defensively with a low center of gravity for being a physically longer kid. Mid 80’s across the diamond with more to come as he matures. High talent level potential with refinement and a player schools will want to start getting eyes out on as they move to knowing the ‘27 class prospects. 

+ Brandon Bardos: The large private school division class state runner-up had a phenomenal day all-around where he stood out in multiple areas. Standing at 6 foot 4 and 210 pounds, the ‘26 class prospect was unknown to us before the event but certainly left a lasting impression. Surprisingly athletic for being so long at a young age with quick moving levers in the lower half. Showed a 7.16 in the sixty with the 2nd fastest 10 yard split at 1.63 seconds showing the burst in the acceleration. Defensively was smooth with the ability to bend to the baseball without slowing down much momentum with easy transfers on his throws. Present arm strength in the low 80’s with more to come as he matures. Had the best showing at the plate where he led the group in multiple hitting categories. Present average bat speed right above 70 mph, while leading the group with the fastest hand speed at 23 mph. Averaged right around 88 mph in EV from Trackman, while leading the entire group with a 101 mph EV with a max batted ball distance of 336 feet, working mostly left-center gap to pull side with low line drives. Present juice in the profile with athleticism, while still plenty left to be developed. There is a lot to like with Bardos and will be someone to keep an eye out on as he continues to mature. 

+ Sam Davidson: The St. George’s rising junior played a big part this spring in the Gryphon’s lineup and behind the dish. Listed at 6 foot and 180 pounds, Davidson comes in surprisingly athletic with a low 7.1 sixty with clean moving body mechanics and balance in the lower half. Presented the best throwdowns with accurate throws staying low in the hole upon receiving with clean ball transfer out of hand. Developing arm strength in the mid 70’s with some present life behind for low carry. Flashed between mid 1.8's-1.9’s on his throws with feel for moving his hips and blocking the baseball right in front of him. Developing bat speed but showed future power potential with a couple mid 90’s EV on batted balls with a low line drive approach. Present ability with more to come and offers plenty of projection in the profile. 

+ Luke Lloyd: Catcher currently listed at 6 foot 1 and 190 pounds in the 2025 class. Loyd packs a punch with a strong frame that has present strength that showcased power ability with back-spinned line drives to both gaps. Swing starts with high hands with some present wiggle that he uses to sync up timing and plane. Loyd showed present bat speed in the low 70’s mph, which presented a few mid 90 mph EV’s with his furthest batted ball traveling 375 ft. Shows really good extension after making contact with the baseball, albeit can shoot his hips early at times, which leads to some high flyouts but the power is definitely there.Showed clean actions tracking to the baseball with developing arm strength in the low 90’s. Good profile to the uncommitted ‘25 class prospect and someone schools should make attempts to get eyes out on.
