Memphis Summer ID: Pitcher Reports

Prep Baseball Tennessee Staff

COLLIERVILLE, TN - The Prep Baseball Tennessee Memphis Summer ID was held on Tuesday, June 18th at Collierville High School. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan during a bullpen setting. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look at some of the standouts from the event. Below you will see the scouting reports on all pitchers from the Memphis Summer ID.

Body: 5-11, 170-pounds. Room for added growth and mass
Delivery: Simple and repeatable motion from both windup and stretch. Has a up-down-out action with a slight open the gate action in his front leg. Does a very good job driving off of his back side down the hill.
Arm Action: LH. Utilizes his long levers to havea. tricky 3/4 crossbody arm action that will be extremely tricky on LHH .
FB: T79, 78-79 mph. His primary offering has some late armside run to it, that holds lots of velo to come. T2101, 2035 average rpm.
CB: 71-72 mph. More of a slider action at present, solid feel for locating the pitch but needs to spin it better in order to create better shape and effectiveness. T1804, 1730 average rpm.
CH: 71-73 mph. CH shows a solid speed differential but is lacking the depth to be a legit offering. T1787, 1593 average rpm.
ATH: 7.45 runner in the 60. 1.75 and 4.10 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Reece Denman, Collierville (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-2, 180-pounds. Compact frame with proportionate limbs that moves well, room to fill out strength wise.
Delivery: Smooth and controlled notion through his windup, works with appearingly low effort as he goes down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Arm works very well and has the potential to hold some serious velocity down the line. Easy effort into an over the top arm slot, which he hides his arm very well behind the body.
FB: T80, 76-79 mph. FB is spun well with solid vertical aciton to it. Look for a large jump in velo as he learns to move faster. T2003, 1883 average rpm.
SL: 66-68 mph. SL shows elite shape with a sweeper action to it, great feel for spinning the pitch that will only get better. T2247, 2190 average rpm.
CH: 70-73 mph. CH shows developing feel with good speed differential. T1410, 1361 average rpm.

Connor Edge, MAGNOLIA HEIGHTS (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/OF

Arm Action: RH. Arm shows a very smooth arm action with a fast over the top arm action.
FB: T81, 80-81 mph. His fastball displayed an elite vertical profile that creeped into the low to mid 20's at times and averaged nearly 19 inches of average IVB. Plays harder than it shows especialy up in the zone. Much more in the tank as he further develops. T1956, 1850 average rpm.

Will Edwards, Greenfield School (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-0, 195-pounds. Solid athletic build that projects very well, should add athleticism exponentially in the coming years.
Delivery: Has good pace through his pitching motion, developing feel for getting into his lower half before driving out with a very long stride. His stride may be costing him some velo as he currently lacks the strength to get down the hill onto his front side with that big of a stride.
Arm Action: RH. His arm works well with a good arm swing behind him, some whip as he accellerates to release in front of his body. His arm action will work very well as he grows into his body.
FB: T78, 74-78 mph. FB shows "cut-ride" action to it at present with an above average feel for spin @ his age. Should develop very good velocity in the near future. T2039, 2002 average rpm.

Delivery: Tall and very simple setup prior to starting his windup which sees him enter his leg lift with good intent prior to showing his back hip well with very solid drive down the hill. He does a really good job getting onto his front leg and finishing his motion.
Arm Action: RH. Generates very easy velocity with much more to come moving forward, live and loose arm as he comes through in a high 3/4 release.
FB: T89, 79-89 mph. FB is spun very well with great ASR, it really takes off when he stays to more on the 2 oclock+ on the release axis. Generates alot of ground balls with great bore. T2211, 2113 average rpm.
SL: 74-74 mph. Throws his SL with conviction with very solid 3-9 movement to it. WIll only get better as he increases his FB velo. T2096, 2004 average rpm.
CH: 74-74 mph. Very good feel for CH in the zone, will need to kill more spin in order to add more depth to the pitch. T1936, 1875 average rpm.
ATH: 7.80 runner in the 60. 1.84 and 4.31 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

SL: 68-70 mph. SL is spun well and has sharp 12/6 movement to it. Will miss bats but needs to increase spin rate in order to play at the next level. T2004, 1877 average rpm.
CH: 74-76 mph. Plus offering with some serious armside fade that got up to 18 inches of HM. Very good job at killing spin and hop. Shows the ability to throw it whenever and can be a serious weapon. T1479, 1345 average rpm.
