Knoxville Preseason ID: Positional Player Reports

Hunter Martin
TN Scouting Director

KNOXVILLE, TN - The Knoxville Preseason ID was held on Saturday, February 3rd at BC Athletics in Knoxville, TN. This event was an open event that consisted of players from the 2025-2027 classes from Volunteer state. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 30-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look at the scouting reports from the event. Today we look at the reports on all positional players who attended the Knoxville Preseason ID.

Body: 6-0, 165-pounds. Well propotioned body with long arms moves extremely well and can bolster more strength easily.
Hit: LHH. Tall start with hands held high above shoulder weight favoring rearleg. Small rearward shift onto back leg lets front foot have a negitive move to a toe tap before making a slight positive gain. Hands resist forward movement creating good seperation. Swing rotates around center of gravity with good accelleration (17g) along with a good front leg brace and 70 degree lean backward. Tight turn behind body produces insconsistent bat path through hitting zone. Long one handed finish as body rotates fully. Hit: RHH. Starts athletically with weight slightly favoring back leg, hands at ear height above shoulder. Weight shifts back into big leg kick that stacks weight on back leg that pushes hands into loaded position. Foot plants for a neutral gain with the leg kick. Bat remains at 45 degrees behind head at foot contact creating good seperation. Upper body stays connected with the lower half as the swing rotates on the rear leg. Turns well with 16gs rotational accelleration. Turns bat tight behind him, allowing the swing to attack the inside part of the ball driving it the other way. Lets ball travel well with consistent barrels to right field. 94 max exit velo shows a 9mph gain from last July. Showing strength will continue to increase. 68.7 mph bat speed with 16 G's of rotational acceleration.

During which the front leg braces softly and backside turns behind it. Hands start letter high and sink with load. Bat path is through zone is very verical due to starting position. Back elbow turns well, but barred front arm limits adjustability. Good contact to pull side when ontime, smaller more controlled movements will lead to better more consistent contact. 57 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 82 max exit velocity, averaged 73.8 mph. 281' max distance.

When bat is connected with body stays through zone well driving balls up the middle and to the backside. 63.7 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 82.0 mph. 278' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-70 mph. super quick arm action, most throws on right side of bag.
