Updated 2018 Rankings

With 2018 players eligible to sign their National Letters of Intent tomorrow, this seems an appropriate time for updated class rankings!
This has been a long process in developing these rankings, including being out a lot in the fall, reaching out to a number of coaches and watching video on every single player in these rankings while compiling internal evaluations.
These rankings have been expanded to a top 200 and includes 61 players entering their first state ranking, including # 8 overall OF Christian Scott from Rossview.

Ryan Weathers LHP / Loretto, TN / 2018Rankings
Commit: Vanderbilt
Fresh off of winning a gold medal with USA Baseball's 18U team, Weathers continues to hold the top spot in the rankings. He touched 95 at the Tournament of Stars, mixing in a 75-79 CB and 79-82 CH. A high ceiling lefty, he will look to build on his performance last spring, where he went 9-0 w/ a .11 ERA over 63 innings, compiling 5 walks and 139 strikeouts. |
Ryder Green OF / Karns , TN / 2018Rankings

A true 5-tool player, Green shows a very exciting skill-set within a physical frame. Experimenting with switch hitting this fall, Green shows elite bat speed from the right side w/ above average bat speed from the left side. He has huge power that is usable in game with a strong approach. Plus runner, plus arm strength w/ feel for defending. He also is up to 90 on the mound. |
Andrew Benefield SS / Siegel, TN / 2018Rankings
Commit: Louisville
Benefield brings everything you want to the table for a SS prospect, bringing plus defensive ability w/ a plus hit tool and a projectable frame. Coming off of a spring where he hit .506 w/ 18 doubles and 7 home runs, he features plus bat speed w/ a disciplined approach. Defensively, shows true SS actions w/ soft hands, good feet, plus arm strength and first step quickness. |
Ethan Smith RHP / Mount Juliet, TN / 2018Rankings
Commit: Vanderbilt A bit of a throwback, Smith excels at keeping hitters off balance while pounding the strike zone w/ big stuff in a prototypical pitcher's frame. Coming off of a perfect game in Jupiter where he struck out 14, Smith attacks w/ a FB up to 93. He also mixes in a 80-84 SL and 84 CH that both project. Mixing the timing of his leg kick, he features advanced command of his entire repertoire . |
Camden Sewell RHP / Cleveland, TN / 2018Rankings
Commit: Tennessee Sewell features some of the best pure stuff in the state. Coming off of a 11 strikeout game in Jupiter, Sewell attacks hitters w/ a deceptive delivery and a super quick arm. Pitching 90-92 w/ a FB that has run and sink, he is very difficult to square up. He also mixes in a plus 75-77 CB that is a true swing and miss pitch. |
