Scouting Report: (10/11/15, Unsigned Senior Games) The 6-foot-1, 160-pound lefty with a lanky, athletic build uses long arm action through a high-3/4 slot, arm is deceptively quick, delivery has some effort, produced a high rate of ground balls. Wyse’s fastball sat at 78-80 mph with good arm side run. He also showed a curveball that sat at 68-69 mph coming from a higher ¾ arm slot giving it a 1/7 break. He does a good job of attacking hitters in the strike zone and gave up two hits in two innings pitched with one strikeout for the maroon team. Wyse has the potential to add more velocity and is an interesting LHP from the 2016 class.
Further Analysis: Wyse’s ability to attack hitters and consistently throw strikes bodes well for him at the next level, whether it’s as a starter or a reliever coming out of the bullpen. He shows good feel for his curveball which will certainly give him the opportunity to be effective in lefty/lefty matchups.
