Unsigned Senior Games: Team White Catchers and Outfielders

The PBR Tennessee Unsigned Senior Games took place on October 11 at Vol State and afforded uncommitted seniors from around the state the opportunity to showcase their abilities in a combination showcase/game play event.

The following is a look at the Team White catchers and outfieldes who participated in the event. This is position player analysis only. Those players who also participated as a pitcher at the event will have their pitching performance featured in a subsequent article.
Catchers
Kemper Dixon, 2016, Portland HS, C
The 5 foot 11, 172-pound prospect posted a 7.09 60 time (6.90 at summer event) and had a 68 mph position velocity from behind the plate (70 at summer event). Defensively Dixon has a short high-3/4 release, accuracy on throws, average arm strength, average hands receiving the ball, has room to improve quickness of footwork on throws. Dixon had a 2.25-2.32 pop times. Offensively Dixon shows some bat speed from the right side with an 86 mph exit velocity off the tee. Dixon hits from a balance setup, has a short stride, uses his upper body only for the most part, shows average overall balance, has a level path and is a line drive type hitter. Dixon went 0 for 3 during game play.
Hayden Coffman, 2016, Grace Christian Academy, C
The 5 foot 9, 180-pound prospect posted a 7.68 60 time and had a 67 mph position velocity from behind the plate. Defensively Coffman has a short high-3/4 release, some accuracy on throws, average arm strength, average hands receiving the ball, footwork stays online but has room to improve quickness, Coffman had a 2.15-2.19 pop times. Offensively Coffman has average bat speed from the right side and had a 78 mph exit velocity off the tee. Coffman hits from a balanced setup, short stride, has room for more consistent use of lower half, short/compact swing with limited extension, works opposite field well. Coffman went 0 for 3 during game play making contact in each at bat.
Outfielders
Blake Gay, 2016, Station Camp HS, OF
The 5 foot 10, 163-pound prospect posted a 7.07 60 time and had an 82 mph position velocity from the outfield. Defensively Gay has a long high-3/4 release and showed some accuracy on throws, slightly above average arm strength, fluid footwork, clean exchange, plays through the ball and shows good outfield instincts. Offensively, Gay showed some bat speed from the right side with an 84 mph exit velocity off the tee. He hits from a balance setup, loads back with front foot and has a long but controlled stride, flat bat path with low hand finish, line drive type hitter with a pull approach, Gay went 0 for 4 during game play.
Kenneth Blackburn, 2016, Franklin HS, OF
The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect posted a 7.00 60 time and had a 73 mph position velocity from the outfield. Defensively Blackburn shows a long high-3/4 release, some accuracy on throws, below average arm strength, athletic defender in the outfield. Offensively Blackburn shows fast bat speed from the right side generated by quick hands and had an 83 mph exit velocity off the tee. Blackburn hits from a balanced setup, has a short stride, uses his lower half, has good balance, has an aggressive approach and attacks the baseball, good extension on swing and shows a pull approach. He went 1 for 4 during game play. Blackburn shows some projectability and offers good athleticism.
