KNOXVILLE, TN - The Top Prospect Games: Knoxville was held on Tuesday, June 13th and Wednesday, June 14th at Lindsey Nelson Stadium at the University of Tennessee. This event was an invite-only event that consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2024-2027 classes from Volunteer state. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing from the event.

Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-2, 220-pounds. Bigger and sturdy body, physical.
Hit: RHH. Slightly closed stance, short and small leg lift into the swing. Looks to lift, easy pop to all fields. Uphill path through contact. 71.9 mph bat speed with 9 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 84 mph. 356' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-77 mph. Strong arm, throws with some intent; Uses long hops
Defense: 1.84-1.97 pop times. Quick transfer right to his ear to make a throw, gains ground well; Blocks remain right in front of him and recovered quickly

Carson Lane, Hardin Valley (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-0, 190-pounds. Lean and proportional frame with room to add size.
Hit: RHH. Even stance, mid-to-high leg lift. Hands are high close to his head Liner drive round, worked gap-to-gap. Steep swing, inside out kind of swing 65.7 mph bat speed with 5 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 77 mph. 264' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-77 mph. Shorter and quick arm to second base.
Defense: 1.92-2.07 pop times. Quicker transfers, occasional arm side miss.

Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-1, 215-pounds. Study, bigger build. Stronger and physical look.
Hit: RHH. Slightly closed in the box, relaxed approach. Mid-high leg lift, looks to punish baseballs. Tilt in the swing. Loud contact, middle to pull side; Simple swing with quick hands 73.3 mph bat speed with 12 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 84 mph. 351' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. Stronger arm, utilizes the long hop at times. Accurate.
Defense: 2.03-2.08 pop times. Clean on transfers, moves well for his size.

Carter Cumming, Independence (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Leaner and athletic frame, room to continue to add size and mass to the body.
Hit: LHH. Even set up in the box, lower and relaxed hand placement. Athletic stance, small stride Short and simple stride to contact, worked all fields during BP. Short downhill swing, makes contact out front 59 mph bat speed with 7 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 81 mph. 303' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-74 mph. OF-82 mph. Strong throws to second, accurate.
Defense: 1.99-2.01 pop times. Solid on transfers, blocks well.

Hit: RHH. Even set up in the stance, slight crouch and hands by the ear. Small toe tap into the swing, steep swing, wants to get extended pullside. Lets his hands work 64.6 mph bat speed with 15 G’s of rotational acceleration.
