TN Weekend Report

On Friday and Saturday, we stayed in the middle of the state to evaluate the Single A Classic, spending Friday at Forrest and Saturday at Middle Tennessee Christian before heading to Siegel for their tilt against Lebanon as part of the Warrior Spring Classic. After a lot of rain Thursday, fields were wet, but looking good and playing well. For a look at some standouts, read below (and check out the Twitter feed for video highlights!)

FB (90-94), CB (77-80), CH (82-85) - 5 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 K Vanderbilt commit who currently ranks as the top prospect in the state did not disappoint in his outing Saturday, his 2nd of the season after winning a state championship in basketball, showcasing 2 plus pitches with about 20 scouts in attendance. 6’2, 210 pounder features a medium, sturdy frame w/ present lower half strength, some physical projection. Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ to H ¾ release. Super quick arm w/ some effort in the throw. Angle and plane. FB shows short arm-side run. Medium downer CB is a hammer, featuring late bite, above average depth. Mixed in a firm straight CH. Controls the baseball, can fill the strike zone. Projects to command, stays out of the middle of the plate. Generated 15 swing and misses on 35 swings. |
