Scouting Report

12/09/21
6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect flashed his abilities as a legit two way prospect at the 2021 PBR Future Games. Long frame with plenty of projection and room to add strength. At shortstop, smooth hands and clean transfers with solid arm strength. Consistency in his footwork, attacking the ball with good angles. At the plate, tall, relaxed stance with true toe tap stride and creates good head/hand separation. Good timing, leading to heavy dose of barrels (41.4% hard hit clip) and sprays hard line drives (T 95.6 exit velo) to all fields with middle approach. Good athlete as 6.97-7.05 runner, so plenty of speed and range to stay on the left side. On the mound, quiet, repeatable delivery with good rhythm and body control down the slope. Quick arm working up to 3/4 slot. FB at 85-88 (T 2222 rpm; Avg: 2142 rpm) with good carry and life in the zone. CB at 66-68 (T 2207 rpm) w/ 11/5 action and decent bite. Potential to be a put away pitch as he learns to throw it harder with more bite because the spin is promising. Third offering is a splitter that he utilizes as his changeup in the mid 70s that has down bite late. He was utilized more as an arm for the state champion CPA club last Spring and threw a quick scoreless inning at Future Games, but he should see more ABs and innings come 2022.

First look at the 6-foot-3, 175-pound two-way prospect out of CPA. Lanky projectable frame with plenty of room to add mass and fill out frame.  Quiet delivery while staying loose with the arm accelerating well up to true 3/4 slot.  Ball comes out the hand clean and decelerates his arm in follow through.  Attacking the zone with FB at 83-87, T88 (2018-2232 rpm) with slight arm side action.  1/7 action slurvy breaking ball at 71-73 (2017-2218 rpm), more CB right now cause of depth, but expect this to develop into SL as he gets more feel.  Threw a nice CH at 75-77 (1479-1695 rpm) with fade from LHH, located around the zone while really using his long fingers to grab seams to kill spin and create action.  Also showed unique forkball at 73-75 with flashes of swing n' miss bite, darting mostly arm side with occasional late cut.  Positionally, seems to have the tools to play up the middle. Relaxed, tall stance getting the foot down to catch consistent barrels, spraying to all fields. Strong athlete, who will certainly contribute on both sides this Spring, and should be shooting up the rankings in the next update.
