6-foot-1, 175-pound middle infielder; lean, athletic frame. Sharp hands up the middle with above average speed (7.15-7.3 sixty), making all the plays.  Sound footwork and showed ability to make throws from multiple slots. Offensively, balanced relax, stance with impact load and moderate leg kick. Newsom does a great job staying engaged with his lower half. Strong bat with above average bat speed (Avg: 68.7 mph per Blast) and knack for barrel producing consistent loud contact (Max: 98.4 mph; Avg: 91.1 mph per Trackman). At TN/KY Border Battle, finished 3 for 5 with 3 singles, a walk, and 2 stolen bases while playing both middle infield positions. Newsom has established himself as the top uncommitted 22' middle infielder in the TN class.

5-foot-11, 165-pound  lean frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 84 mph. Began in a crouched stance, had a small load and used a big leg kick right before his swing. Displays quick bat speed and a flat swing plane, he ends his swing with extension on his finish. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, made throws across the field up to 83 mph; has soft hands and a clean exchange. Used a high ¾ slot with long arm action. He recorded a 60 time of 7.42 at the event.

5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder, proportional build, solid athlete. Offensively, open setup, hands separate on load, reverse toe-tap stride, good balance through contact. Line drive type hitter, swing works smoothly through the zone, can get uphill at-times. With added strength will have the ability to consistently drive the ball gap-to-gap.
