Pitching is a key part to any team’s success. That being said, not every pitcher is blessed with an over-powering fastball, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t know how to pitch and be effective. Terryn Seaton, despite not showing over-powering velocity, is a LHP with the potential to help some college baseball programs in the future.

During Seaton’s bullpen session, the 5-foot-9, 175-pound LHP showed short arm action with a high-3/4 to over the top arm slot. Seaton pounded his fastball for strikes ranging from 76-78 mph. He showed an average splitter that ranged from 68-71 mph as well with some tumbling action. Seaton’s curveball showed 12/6 action and ranged from 65-66 mph. He also showed a solid changeup at 67-69 mph that he locates well at the bottom of the zone.

With two years of high school baseball remaining, Seaton may have more velocity coming. In the meantime, he will rely on his pitchability to continue to get hitters out at the high school level for Columbia Central.
