DREW BEAM / RHP / BLACKMAN, TN / 2021Rankings StateRank: 57 / POS: 13
FB (84-86, 87 three times), CB (71-74), CH (75-79) - 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 14 K Sophomore righty has taken a big jump from when we first saw him at the TBCA event last summer. Prototypical athletic pitcher frame, medium, well-proportioned lean strength w/ some present lower half strength, super projectable. Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ to H ¾ release from the third base side of the rubber. Low effort throw w/ super quick arm. Ball jumps out of his hand. Can get a little stronger with the glove side at times, but repeats his delivery consistently. Angle. True FB. Tight medium downer CB w/ depth. Put-away type pitch. Straight CH w/ occasional short cut and sink. Strike-thrower pounds the zone. Rare to see an arm like this throw so many strikes, 71 of 102 on this day. Advanced feel of secondary, 20 of 32 CB for strikes, 9 of 11 CH for strikes. Understands difference between get ahead CB and put-away CB. Projects to command. Generated 21 swing and misses on 54 swings. |
