MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Open was held on Wednesday, June 28th at FedEx Park on the campus of the University of Memphis. This event was an open event that consisted of players from the 2024-2028 classes from Volunteer state. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Wednesday.

outFIELDER REPORTS

James Fenton, Houston (TN), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/RHP Can flat out run- 6.47 60 time
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Easy movement actions from an athletic frame. Built strong on the lower half with thin waist.
Hit: RHH. Crouched square stance, small leg kick Slight uphill swing, hands work well; Worked the gaps, does a good job of getting his hands extended
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 80.7 mph. 313' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-83 mph. lower 3/4 arm slot- creates arm side run. Strong arm but doesn't have as much carry due to the spin direction
Defense: Good footwork approaching the ball, really quick in the OF, gets rid of the ball quickly
ATH: 6.47 runner in the 60. 1.59 and 3.66 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Carson Allen, Bayou (MS), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-8, 145-pounds. Athletic frame with room for plenty added size.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open athletic stance, lower hands by his chest; Small leg kick Flat swing, fast hands, lower half works well; Hands get extended, lots of line drives in the gaps and up the middle 66.5 mph bat speed with 9 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 80.0 mph. 296' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-81 mph. High intent throws, long arm action; High slot, utilized long hops
Defense: Comes and gets the ball, fields it off his back foot; Works through fly balls well

Collin Tobin, Christian Brothers (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-4, 202-pounds. Tall with long body, athletic for his frame
Hit: RHH. Narrow tall open stance, small leg kick Short swing, steep approach. Struggles with pitches in. Stays up the middle. Hard hits were line drives to the middle of the field 65.7 mph bat speed with 17 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 82.1 mph. 341' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-81 mph. Long arm action, ball carries well. Throws made it in the air. Made sure his balls could be cut
Defense: Good approach to the ball, gets down hill to make a throw. Fields ball off his back foot

Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 5-10, 130-pounds. Smaller side at this point but has plenty of length to grow into his frame.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open athletic base, relaxed hands and arms; Medium sized leg kick Steep swing path, rotates fast, short swing. Intent to do damage, Hits low line drives to the gaps 55.4 mph bat speed with 15 G’s of rotational acceleration.

Arm: LH. OF-73 mph. Made good long hop throws, quick arm. Shorter arm action 3/4 arm slot
