AL/TN Unsigned Senior Showcase: Quick Hits
November 6, 2022
MADISON, AL - The AL/TN Unsigned Senior Showcase was held on Sunday, November 6th at James Clemens HS in Madison, AL. This event was an open event that consisted of unsigned prospects from the Class of 2023 in Alabama and Tennessee. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, participated in defensive evaluations, ran the 60 yard-dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers threw in bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Sunday.
Kicking off our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at some of the top performers and standouts from Sunday. Continuing over the course of the next week or so, we will release different statistical leaderboards for the event then transition into releasing individual scouting reports for each player in attendance.

Alabama Prospects
+ 3B Garrett Calhoun, Handley (AL), 2023
Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 190-pounds. Easily one of the top performers from yesterday's event, posting some of the top statistics in multiple categories and looking the part in the process. Using a strong frame, Calhoun has the looks of being a future middle-of-the-order infielder for someone at the next level with gap-to-gap pop from the right side. With some rhythm in the swing, the unsigned senior took some aggressive swings resulting in a top EV at 99.0 mph while showing above average bat speed, as well. Also a 7.25 runner in the 60 and was a 80 mph across the infield.
‘23 3B Garrett Calhoun (@GarrettCalhoun8; @Handley_Tigers) was one of today’s biggest performers w/ a solid workout.

+ 1B Preston Lewis, New Hope (AL), 2023
Uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 245-pounds. One of the more physically imposing prospects from the event, Lewis showed some immense pull-side power during his round of BP. Hitting multiple balls out of the park during his round, the unsigned senior posted the highest EV from the event at 100.2 mph with his last swing traveling at 388 ft. Lewis showed a heavy barrel hitting the from left side with his power being his best tool from an offensive perspective. He's also shown some athleticism for his size running a 7.17 in the 60, as well. Could be another solid addition for a program at the next level.

+ 3B/RHP Galen Evans, Huntsville (AL), 2023
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 155-pounds. Evans certainly showed the progress he's made over the course of the past two years, both physically and with his skill set. Now standing with a more refined frame and some quick twitch, Evans was also a leader across multiple statistical categories from yesterday's event. The unsigned senior posted multiple low-90 EV's with a top @ 96.6 mph with some elite bat speed (75.8 mph average) using our Blast Motion sensor. In addition, Evans also hopped on the mound and worked up to 84 mph with solid secondaries, as well. Another intriguing unsigned senior.

+ C Aslan Hullett, Brentwood Academy (TN), 2023
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 220-pounds. Boxy, muscular frame w/ present strength. Relaxed, slightly open stance w/ toe tap stride and quiet hand load.
