From Wednesday, July 24, through Sunday, July 28, Prep Baseball is hosting the next edition of its prestigious Future Games and Junior Future Games at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA., featuring the country's best uncommitted talent. And, for the first time ever, the Future Games is hosting not just its typical set of incoming juniors and freshmen, but also a 17U division of uncommitted Class of 2025 players who will participate in the inaugural Senior Future Games.

On the first day of the 2024 Future Games, all players representing grad classes 2025, 2026, and 2028 will be participating in a pro-style workout in front of a fleet of Division I coaches alongside fellow prospects representing nearly every state in the nation.

Inside this piece, we'll be highlighting some of top performers from Team Tennessee at the 2024 Prep Baseball Junior Future Games throughout game play.

TEAM TENNESSEE: GAME PLAY TAKEAWAYS

AJ Dungan RHP / Mt. Juliet, TN / 2028 Our staff had gotten a first look at the lanky right hander at our Murfreesboro Summer ID, where he brought the event to an exciting close being the last bullpen of the day. Dungan checks all the boxes you are looking for in a young pitcher physically, tall, high waist, lanky, and skinny as a bone.  The righty works in the low 80’s, occasionally grabbing a 85 with 1 86. He has a very deceptive and low release with an average release height of 4’4”.  His arm works very well and is playing much harder than it is. Very early feel for his offspeed stuff that will come as he develops. Quintessential pitcher frame with the stuff to go with it, Dungan is one to circle.

McClain Ridler OF / LHP / Summit High School, TN / 2028 We are watching the early makings of something special with the incoming freshmen for the Davidson Academy.  Ridler McClain has done nothing but impress here at Lake Point thus far. With a frame that oozes projectability on both sides of the ball. On Thursday night he was impressive in his short inning of work, needing the minimum in order to retire the side. Running his fastball up to 84 and sitting 82-83, said fastball however, shows elite shaping that averaged nearly -20 inches of horizontal break while keeping vert on or below 10 inches. He would also flash a changeup that has the potential to be an elite offering, and a SL which he has good feel for. His abilities are only one part of the show however, as he features plus bat speed for his age with an explosive left handed swing. A 7.06 runner, McClain also shines on defense with an arm built for the corner outfield spots at 87 mph during workouts, he would force Team Missouri to hold runners at third on multiple occasions on balls to right. The young lefty is building an impressive portfolio for himself and he has yet to step foot on a highschool field, HIGH follow.

Alex Potter RHP / 3B / Dickson County High School, TN / 2028 The young infielder had himself a great day at the ballpark today during the second day of games for the Team Tennessee Junior Future’s players. Potter, who had an impressive round of batting practice during the workouts, continued to swing the bat extremely well. He would collect 2 hits on the day, showing off great feel for the barrel on a base hit up the middle and a crushed line drive to center field that registered at 91 off the bat. He shows a very athletic stance with interesting, but effective movement of his hands. Potter brings a natural ability to swing the bat which will only get better as his strength grows to match it.

Grady Callaway C / 3B / Davidson Academy, TN / 2028 In a back and forth game between Team Tennessee and Team Missouri, the incoming Davidson Academy product would provide the fireworks for Team Tennessee in a late comeback that would ultimately come up short. The very physical frame of Grady Callaway would leave the ballpark in impressive fashion, leaving to left field at 90 exit velo and 350 feet of distance. The young catcher showed off a 1.94 poptime and 73 mph velo shows promise to be a premier bat at the position. A serious threat at the plate with still a lot of pop left in the tank as he learns to fire his lower half better, he is certainly one to watch.

Jonah Saken SS / 2B / Ravenwood High School, TN / 2028 A pure quick twitch athlete, Saken has been showing off a just as pure feel for hitting that is very fun to watch. Saken would collect one hit on the day against Team Missouri against a very quality left handed arm, being a fastball that he ambushed for a base hit to left field. A sub 7 runner, Saken has a very smooth swing with a simple stride, right before his front foot is set to land his hands push back just a hair, producing great stretch from his still developing frame.

Fisher Green SS / RHP / Halls High School, TN / 2028 The incoming freshmen is a part of a pair of future Hall’s students here in Lake Point for the Juniors futures games. The 2-way threat of the pair, Fisher Green has been very impressive so far this week at lake point. He was tied for the lead in the group with an 87 positional velo with very impressive metrics at the plate as well. He has played all over the infield for us with solid defense throughout.

Nate Simmons 1B / RHP / The Webb School, TN / 2028 Simmons, who is an incoming Freshman at The Webb School has been impressing all week at the ‘24 Junior Futures games. He features a big and developed frame physically, with great strength currently in his lower half. Measuring at 6’2 and 220 pounds, he is still growing into his frame athletically and should improve greatly in that field as he goes further. In gameplay against team Missouri, he showcased an advanced feel for a 2 strike approach in shortening up and driving a double down the third base line for a stand up double. There is pop in the tank, however at the moment his drivetrain is having trouble putting the power to the pavement. He will develop very good power when he learns to use his strong lower half better, and gets his hands all the way loaded.
