Scouting Report
2/7/15 - The 6-foot-2, 200-pound 3B/OF ran a 6.75 60 yard dash time and had a position velocity of the following INF- 89mph, OF- 89 mph, Defensively Denton showed good arm strength and athletic ability, showed fluid footwork and soft hands, had quick instincts. At the plate Denton had an open setup with a short stride, showed good balance and bat speed, had fluid rhythm and is a power type hitter, had a 98mph exit velocity off of the tee and shows power that projects well at the next level. Big combination of athletic ability, arm strength, and power.
10/24/14 - Denton went 2-for-4 with an RBI at the WWBA in Jupiter. He has an upright stance and takes a short stride, exhibiting good bat speed with a short swing. He does well to keep his hands in and turned on a hard single past the shortstop in his first at-bat
A 6-foot-1, 195 pound senior at Ravenwood HS, Denton has consistently made a name for himself over the years showing why he is a top prospect. He shows two-way abilities with a high 80's fastball, runs a sub 7 60-yard dash and a big arm across the infield. Flashes a power bat at the plate. Helped lead the Raptors (26-15) to a state tournament berth. He finished the season with a .484 batting average, 10 home runs, 16 doubles, eight triples and 62 RBI. On the mound, he had a 2.93 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 61 innings pitched. Denton has committed to play for Vanderbilt.
