Uncommitted Sleepers (Rank 125+)
Brady Hendrix, SS/RHP, Summit, 2023
Uncommitted, 6-foot, 195-lb proportional frame w/ lower half strength and athleticism. At the plate, wide stance w/ small hand load and no stride. Generates above average bat speed w/ solid rotation and pull side to middle approach. Solid power from the left side (T 90.7; Avg: 82.4) w/ more power to project (T 337 ft). Defensively, projects to be more of LHH 2B w/ 7.03 sixty. Prep step hop, wide base, average transfer w/ solid hands. Compact arm action w/ solid strength (81 INF Velo). On the mound, strictly from the stretch w/ standard leg lift. Drop n drive lower half w/ square toe landing. Some funk to the arm slot, working up to low 3/4 slot. FB at 80-84 (T 2421; Avg: 2274 rpm) w/ good life and slight horizontal ASR. Maintains plane, beating bats up in the zone (T 18 IVB). Tunnels 11/5 action CB at 67-71 w/ late bite and separation off FB. Showed CH at 73-75 w/ some deception to round mix. Hendrix provides two-way upside w/ slightly higher ceiling on the mound. Pitched heavily out of the bullpen for Summit, showing composure and slow pulse w/ good results while handling his lefty bat in the lineup.
Donovan Peebles, 1B, Smyrna, 2023
Uncommitted, 6-foot-2, 220-lb tall, physical frame w/ projection and athleticism. At the plate, tall, open stance w/ slight barrel tip and toe tap glide stride. Swings with authority w/ excellent bat speed (T 79.1; Avg: 74.5) and rotation (Avg: 16.4 G) on an uphill plane. Pull side approach w/ lot of hard contact (T 96.7; Avg: 88.9) and looking to do damage in the power alleys. Defensively, very sound at 1B w/ good footwork and receiving. Long, loose arm action w/ solid arm strength (80 INF velo) and 7.25 runner. Peebles has just continued to progress and round out his game (even showing some potential on the mound), and can provide lefty thump in the lineup.
‘23 CINF @Donovan_Peebles (@Smyrna_Baseball) has continued to improve. Tall frame w/ strength. Advanced bat (T 76.4) & hand speed (T 25.0). Staying balanced driving ⚾️ into power alleys (T93.3; Avg: 87.9 exit). 7.48 runner & 80 IF velo. @PBR_Uncommitted #TNPreseasonAllState pic.twitter.com/8UxepE5gap

Ian Hubbard, OF/LHP, Knoxville Catholic, 2023
Uncommitted, 5-foot-11, 175-lb proportional frame w/ lower half strength and some physicality. At the plate, tall, slightly open stance w/ moderate leg kick and bat tip load. Generates above average bat speed w/ good rotation and controls barrel thru contact. Gets on plane early and often, leading to consistent hard contact (T 96.4; Avg: 93.4 exit velo) w/ pull side approach and gap power (T 363 ft). Defensively, solid runner and arm strength (81 OF velo), projecting to a corner OF spot or 1B. Compact, wrap arm action but gets solid carry. Hubbard has shown some two-way upside as a 79-82 southpaw w/ good feel for three pitches as well.
.@PBR_Uncommitted ‘23 OF/LHP Ian Hubbard (@Ian_Hubb3; @KCHS_Baseball) lines a single to the backside, showing a line drive level bat path approach, keeping the barrel through contact.

Gavin Dufault, OF/2B, Clarksville, 2023
Uncommitted, 5-foot-10, 168-lb proportional, athletic frame w/ room to add strength. At the plate, tall, slightly open stance w/ quick stride and rhythm in load. Generates above average bat speed w/ good rotation and extension. Middle to pull side approach w/ solid pop (T91; Avg: 83 exit velo) and backspins the ball well. Defensively, slots best in the OF w/ some utility upside (2B/3B). Aggressive on ground balls in OF w/ bouncy feet and good range (6.89 sixty). Compact arm action w/ solid arm strength (84 INF/OF velo). In the infield, active feet and under control w/ solid hands and transfers. Various arm slots and good accuracy. Dufault is a high motor player and brings good energy to the field w/ defensive versatility and consistent bat.
Braden Williams, RHP, Upperman, 2023
Uncommitted, 6-foot-2, 180-lb lean, projectable frame w/ high waist and long levers. Staggered setup w/ quiet first step and high leg lift. Tall n fall lower half w/ high front side glove and fairly square toe landing. Long, loose arm action working up to H 3/4 slot. FB at 80-84 (T 2215; Avg: 1921 rpm) w/ some arm side life and slight sink at times. Doesn’t overpower, but good life and gets some swing n miss. 11/5 action CB at 69-72 (T 2264 rpm) w/ good shape and some late bite. Lands for strikes, bury for chase, or manipulate shape to extend the zone. Good feel for CH at 76-79 w/ great depth and fade to neutralize LHH. Williams played a big role in helping Upperman win the 3A state title, and shown great feel for three pitch mix w/ more to come.
JJ Pruneau, C/2B, Friendship Christian, 2023
Uncommitted, 5-foot-11, 175-lb proportional frame w/ lower half strength and room to add mass. Crouched, open stance w/ moderate leg kick and bat tip load. Generates slightly above average bat speed w/ some whip in the barrel and strong finish. Gets on plane early and often, leading to consistent hard contact (T 92.3; Avg: 84.1) w/ a lot of line drives and some power to project. Defensively, more of a utility player (C/2B) who can do everything solid. Shown some upside behind the plate w/ sound receiving and blocking. Compact arm action w/ solid arm strength (74 C velo) and quick transfers, keeping throws around the bag (2.00-2.10 pop). On the infield, wide base w/ good glove presentation, solid hands, and sound footwork. Some stiffness in the arm action and lack of speed (7.51 sixty) may limit him to more 2B. Pruneau is a high floor prospect, who plays hard and can do a little of everything as he lacks a standout tool.
Alex Eisenbeck, OF, Franklin, 2023
Uncommitted, 6-foot, 170-lb lean, wiry frame w/ projection and room to add strength. At the plate, crouched open stance w/ toe tap stride and good head/hand separation. Generates average bat speed (T 66.3), but good sequencing in rotation (T 18.5 G) w/ uphill plane and two handed finish. Not overly physical, sprays line drives to all fields (T 86.9; Avg: 82.1 exit velo) and more power to project w/ more bat speed/strength. Defensively, well rounded tools and projects to a corner spot although playing CF for Franklin HS. 7.49 runner and long, stabby arm action w/ solid arm strength (82 OF velo). Tracks balls well and shows more speed in game. Eisenbeck is a high floor prospect, who is just scratching the surface of his potential as he continues to fill out his frame.
Amarius Dunn, RHP, Gallatin, 2023
Uncommitted, 6-foot-1, 192-lb lean, projectable frame w/ room to add strength. Stock delivery w/ average first step and quick tempo. High leg lift into drop n drive lower half, gliding down the slope w/ square toe landing before spinning off to 1B side. Long, loose quick arm action w/ full circle swing, working up to H 3/4 slot. FB at 77-80 T81 (T 2124 rpm) w/ good life and natural cut. Clean out the hand and stays around the zone when he gets on top of it. Mixed CB at 63-67 w/ low spin, but flashes of bite at times. Tends to slow the arm down, more so flipping it in for strike, but gets better action when thrown with conviction. Also showed CH at 75-77 as a solid developmental offering to keep hitters honest. Dunn is not a polished pitcher, but shows upside value as he continues to develop and sharpen his stuff.
Garrett Webber, SS/RHP, Peabody, 2023
Uncommitted, 5-foot-10, 165-lb lean, wiry frame w/ great athleticism and room to add mass. Balanced, open stance w/ simple hand load and small leg kick. Efficient swing, generating above average bat speed (T 71.4) w/ good rotation and on plane. Controls barrel thru contact w/ two handed finish and good hand eye coordination. Good pop for size (T 94.1; Avg: 80.8 exit velo) w/ some projection there. Defensively, tools to stay up the middle. Active feet w/ sound hands and great range (6.80 sixty). Compact, short arm action and gets the ball out quickly. Not overwhelming arm strength (75 INF velo), but good carry on throws with accuracy. Webber shows some two-way upside as he was 78-80 (T 2534 rpm) and high spin CB (68-70; T 2420 rpm) before an arm injury slowed his development on the mound. Dual sport athlete and athleticism, make him one to watch this Spring for Peabody.
Jackson Steele, OF/1B, Carter, 2023
Uncommitted, 6-foot-3, 205-lb tall frame w/ present strength and room to add mass. At the plate, tall, slightly open stance w/ quick leg kick and compact load. Generates above average bat speed (T 74; Avg: 71.2) w/ good rotation (T 21.6 G) and controls barrel thru contact. Legit gap to gap power (T 94.3; Avg: 86.1 exit velo), driving balls to the pull side w/ authority (T 361 ft). Defensively, projects as LF, but more intriguing to move to 1B at next level. Lacks speed and range (7.74 sixty) w/ short compact arm action and average arm strength (78 OF velo). Steele is a bat-heavy prospect with some question marks on position, but he’s been a consistent offensive contributor for Carter over the years.
