2018 Cape Cod: Orleans Prospect Reports
August 17, 2018
Three potential top round arms and a couple big bats highlight the Orleans Firebirds this summer.
Logan Wyatt, 2019, L/R, 1B (Louisville)
At six-foot-four, 230 pounds Wyatt provides a large left-handed presence in the batter’s box. He was the same tough out in the Cape as seen earlier this spring- Scouting Trail: Week Four. He continued to produce big numbers this summer slashing .305/.458/.438 for Orleans. A selective hitter with a quiet approach, he utilizes a small load in his swing for fair separation and maintains good balance throughout. Showed a very compact swing in batting practice and became a bit longer in the game. Relies more on his size and strength than bat speed for plus raw power. Moves well fielding his position and running the bases, especially for someone his size. Profiles well to first base at the pro level, but a corner outfield spot on a part-time basis is also a possibility. A likely analytics favorite due to his combination of on-base and power production...
