SHIPYARD PBR SHOWDOWN
Ryan Burke 2024 RHP Legion Collegiate
Burke showed some interesting things in his start. He faced one of the better lineups in the state in Hanahan. High waisted, Tall/Lanky frame, that sat 84-87 with the FB in the game. Showed good command while mixing in a CH at 80. Slow delivery where he works in a high leg kick with no runners on. Showed ASR to FB. Gets good extension with a H3Q arm slot. Interesting arm that can produce more velocity to go with the strong command with added weight on an already tall frame.

Landon Gomes 2024 OF Hanahan HS Francis Marion Commit
A mainstay at many Prep Baseball events, Landon is a fun player to watch compete on the diamond. On his early hit in the game showed the ability to have a compact swing while keeping the hands inside the ball to drive it into CF. Shows quick hands in the box with discipline as well. Has the ability to drive the ball into the gaps with his balanced approach.

Gabe Dotterweich 2024 RHP Hanahan HS Florence Darlington Commit
Gabe got off to a bumpy start early in the game yet still kept Legion from causing damage in the early innings. Once settled in, Legion struggled to square up Gabe. Produced a lot of S&M in the later innings with the FB/CB combo. He sat 84-87 with the FB, topping at 88. Flipped in a CB at 75 with late sharp break. Showed a compact delivery with some cut on the FB. Competitive on the bump with some fire as well. Will be a top end arm for Hanhan in their pursuit to make it back to the 3A state championship.

Leo Lopez 2024 SS Riverside HS
Leo caught the eye as he was walking into the Shipyard. Athletic build with some swagger to go along with it. Was locked in early and showed confidence in the game. Didn’t have a huge day at the plate but put the barrel on a good bit of the baseballs he saw. With 2 strikes showed the ability to drive an outside pitch into CF for a big RBI in a critical moment. Shows good barrel control and quickness out of the LHH box. In the field showed some quick twitch actions with an average arm across the diamond. Look for this player to continue making some noise throughout the season.
With 2Ks ‘24 SS Leo Lopez stays on the pitch and drives it into center for an RBI single to tie us at 3 but the next runner is cut down at the plate. Lot to like with Lopez in first viewing. @RHSBaseballSC #PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/rlku1ZJYqW

David Ketterman 2024 OF Oceanside Collegiate College of Charleston Commit
Ketterman had a few huge ABs in the later parts of the game. On his 3rd AB (video below) he hammered a ball pull side that was 1-2 feet from leaving the yard in very windy conditions. He managed to get a 3B out of it as well. His 4th AB he drilled another ball into the OF. Athletic LHH with good speed on the basepaths. Shows some range in the OF with good IQ of the game. Hard-nosed player that sets the tone for the OCA lineup early.
‘24 David Ketterman unloads on one that just barely stays in the yard for a 3B. Drives in 2 runs to give @Landshark_Base the lead 3-2 here in the 4th over Riverside. @DavidKetterman4 @CofCBaseball Commit#PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/DBtKSARrhA

Max Whitmer, 2025, RHP, Wando HS
Whitmer with an impressive outing to get the tournament started. Was in command of all his pitches on the day and was able to throw all pitches in any count. Fastball showed good life to it while sitting 85-87 mph with arm side run and sink to it. Was able to move FB around to all parts of the zone. SL was sharp with good break to it at 75-78 mph and showed he could throw for strikes as well as a put away pitch. Good pitching prospect that continues to impress each time out!

Peter Mershon, 2025, C, Eastside HS, South Carolina Commit
One of the top players not only in the state but in the country. Every time we see Peter play all he does is hit. On this day he collected another hard hit ball. Mershon was equally impressive behind the plate as well and showed off his received skill while stealing lots of borderline pitches and making the strikes. Has a very subtle movement with the glove while showing good agility as well on balls in the dirt. Top notch player that shows a high level to hit and also defend.

Ejan Fusetti, 2024, LHP, Eastside HS
Left hander was in control on the mound on day. Keep hitters off balance while mixing his fastball and curveball. Fastball was 77-78 mph and he commanded the zone with the pitch and showed he could expand the zone with it. Curveball had a 12/6 shape to it while sitting 68-70 mph. Could bounce the breaking ball and use it as a put away pitch or dump it in for strikes. Competed big time on the mound and keep a talented roster off the scoreboard and gave his team a chance to win!
Andrew McLaughlin, 2024, RHP, Ashley Ridge HS, Lenoir Rhyne Commit
Big strong physical frame with an aggressive delivery and attacks hitters. Andrew was able to attack hitters with his fastball and breaking ball. Showed he could really pitch with throwing either pitch in any count. Fastball was up to 92 mph while sitting anywhere from 86-90 mph. Breaking ball was 75-78 mph and could throw in for strikes early to get ahead or to as a put away pitch. Aggressive mindset on the mound with a good mound presence that came out and attacked hitters.

Banks Wickersham, 2026, 3B/C, Fort Dorchester HS
One of the top players in the state in the 26 class came out the gate hot while smoking a ball in his first at bat for a 3B in the oppo gap and then again later in the game getting a base hit up the middle for a single with 2K. High level hitter that also shows versatility on defense. This day played a locked down third base while showing off a ton of arm strength across the diamond. Big time prospect that plays the game hard.

Taj Marchand, 2026, INF, James Island HS
Another top player in the class of the 26 class shows off great athleticism and versatility. A long lean athletic frame has a flat aggressive swing with good bat speed. Aggressive hitter that runs well. Defensively has soft hands and good feet to go with a good arm. High energy player that plays the game the right way. Has continued to impress each time we see him!

Jake Amman, 2025, INF, James Island HS
Strong physical player that is a dangerous hitter in the batter's box. Good athleticism and shows the ability to hit at a high level. Good short flat stroke through the zone with good bat speed. Good blend of power and contact and can hit the ball all around the field. Shows great versatility and can play anywhere on the field and play it at a high level!!

Stow Rogers, 2025, C, James Island, College of Charleston Commit
Everytime we watch Stow play we come away very impressed. Size, strength, and athleticism really stand and continue to improve behind the plate. Receives the ball at a high level and can really throw with ease. Pop times in between innings consistently 1.86-1.9 with accurate throws. Very dangerous with the bat and can do damage at any time. Great balance in the box with a short simple swing with good bat speed and plenty of strength at contact. Quickly becoming one of the top position players in his class!
