Team Carolina Future Games - Statistical Analysis
August 13, 2019
Each year, Prep Baseball Report assembles the top uncommitted underclass players from across the country to convene at one spot for college coaches to asses. This year North and South Carolina combined for the second straight year to form Team Carolina. The 23 player squad took part in the biggest underclass event in the country in Emerson, GA at the LakePoint facility.
Position players took part in a full pro-style workout on day 1. With most of the action happening on one field, college coaches from across the country could lock in on potential prospects and compare them with other top players working their way across the diamond. Days 2 - 4 saw live game action with two games scheduled to be overlapping at the 4 field facility, again allowing college coaches unprecedented access to evaluate the best of the best. This year saw well over 300 college coaches in attendance.
Team Carolina represented the Carolinas in a very positive way. The performance during the workout day, plus a 2-1 record, and "winning" its pool said a lot, but the way the players interacted with other top players, each other, and the staff and coaches around LakePoint complimented their home territory in a big way.
