EMERSON, GA—Sunday at the PBR Classic produced the kind of matchup I long for, as the 17U division featured Canes National vs. Team Elite Black. Timely hitting and some clutch pitching helped The Canes to a 4-0 win. SS Alex Mooney (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep, MI) was hit by a pitch and scored in the first, coming home on a single by OF Daylen Lile (Trinity Prep, KY). They added three more in the third when a balk was called while Lile tried to steal home. OF Nick McLain (Beckman HS, CA) followed with a single and he scored when OF Malakhi Knight (Marysville-Getchell HS, WA) blasted a double to center field.
