Who are the need-to-know JUCO hitters from across the country?
January 24, 2024
The ‘Hotlist’ is a series that provides weekly insight into the high school baseball scene spanning the country, curated by Prep Baseball’s state directors who are situated nationwide, with vital intel on the prospects who are in their own backyards. Each week, we’ll publish our ‘Hotlist’ on varying topics that are timeliest to the national baseball calendar at that point in time.
This week’s topic: The 2024 NJCAA season begins at the Division I level on Friday, Jan. 26. With that, let's celebrate by sharing some need-to-know prospects in the JUCO ranks and/or which teams you think will be representing each state at the DI, DII, or DIII World Series at the end of May.

JUCO Hitters:
Texas
+ Tanner Reaves, MIF, Blinn (TX), LSU commit | (Bonham HS, 2022):
“The No. 10-ranked player on the JUCO Wire Top-150, Reaves is the top-ranked position player in Texas. The left-handed hitter has some of the best barrel-to-ball skills around. He can go foul line to foul line with authority and has the ability to leave the yard backside. He is also a good runner, as he has been clocked in the 6.50s. While he played second base all last year, he has gotten some reps at short early this spring, and I believe he could also be a plus defender in center field. Reaves is the catalyst for one of the top lineups in the country, and he should put up big numbers this spring.”
