Looking back at the past week for Prep Baseball, the first in-season 2024 MLB Mock Draft is released by Draft HQ with the college season a month in and the second National Player of the Week for the 2024 season finds its way to an All-American Game alumni in Arizona. NATIONAL NEWS
+ After a five-inning no-hitter with 16 strikeouts, featuring a four strikeout inning, Arizona’s class of 2024 LHP/OF Cameron Caminiti has been named as Prep Baseball’s National Player of the Week. In the no-hitter, the 2023 Prep Baseball All-American Game alumni recorded two RBIs of his own. Draft HQ
+ The college season is a month in, with 2024 MLB Draft prospects making their impact early. Unlike last year’s draft, the No.1 pick looks to be up for grabs amongst the vast talent that this year’s class presents. Reflecting the rise of some college prospects that got off to a hot start, as well as some who might not have gotten off on the right foot, the Draft HQ Staff presents their updated 2024 MLB Mock Draft.
+ In this week’s edition of “College Crosscheck”, Director of College Scouting David Seifert, joined by D1Baseball’s Aaron Fitt and Burke Granger, traveled to Kentucky as the Wildcats took on Kennesaw State. Also featured are prospects from Indiana and Troy, along with notes from Prep Baseball VA/DC Scouting Director Jason Burton and Prep Baseball Ohio’s Pete Whitmer on 2024 MLB Draft eligible sophomores from Liberty, William & Mary and Longwood. + In North Carolina’s Region X, Prep Baseball JUCO Wire’s No. 7 ranked Gaston got off to a hot start in conference play, with half of the region’s NJCAA Div. I level programs four games in as well. N.C. Assistant Director of Scouting, Zach Boraski showcases standings from all three levels as well as program notes in the latest “Region X Notebook”.

STATE-BY-STATE
Arizona
After being named Prep Baseball’s National Player of the Week from March 4-10, class of 2024’s Cameron Caminiti stepped back on the mound in dominant fashion at the ‘Boras Classic’. The premier tournament saw the likes of the nation’s top talent from Arizona, Nevada and Colorado all in one place. Prep Baseball Arizona’s Scouting Director, Shea Sbranti provides his notes and video from the tournament in an “AZ Scout Blog”.
Colorado

Kansas
Currently, RHP Rocco Loffredo is Kansas’ No. 15 prospect in the class of 2024 and No. 7 at his position. Standing at 6-foot-7, the senior pitcher made his commitment to play at Johnson County Community College in the NJCAA. Recently, the Prep Baseball Kansas Staff met with Loffredo for a Q&A about his recruiting process and more.
Missouri
The Prep Baseball Future Games has been a breeding ground for top uncommitted prospects across the country, to be seen in one place by over 350 college scouts and coaches. The event saw over 350 prospects land their collegiate homes to continue playing baseball and the state of Missouri has been no exception. Throughout the week, the Prep Baseball Missouri staff met with various prospects from the 2022 and 2023 Futures Games to talk about their recruitment journey and more:

On Monday, March 11, VA/DC Scouting Director, Jason Burton and staff unveiled 20 players to keep an eye out for as the area’s Player of the Year. The list features two 2023 Prep Baseball All-American Game participants, five 2024 Super 60 participants and three Future Games alumni.
