Looking back at the past week for Prep Baseball, a hot start to kick off the Nebraska high school season lands one Future Games representative the National Player of the Week honor. The first edition of the ‘Tech Ed’ series is released, breaking down the science behind how a player’s hand dominance and strength correlates to the plate. Draft HQ brings in a new member with over 20 years of Major League scouting experience, plenty of uncommitted spotlights and more.

Player of the Week
March 18 to March 24 saw baseball in Nebraska kick off and no player got off to a hotter start than ‘24 first baseman AJ Evasco. Leading Lincoln East HS to a perfect 7-0 start, the Kansas State commit’s seven of his 11 hits were for extra bases while driving in 16 runs. See how Evasco helped the No. 1 ranked team in Nebraska’s Class A Power 10, along with other Players of the Week from the states in action.
Tech Ed
At Prep Baseball, technology has been a key element in showcases to expand the evaluation process beyond the eye test. Draft HQ
+ On Tuesday, March 26, Prep Baseball welcomed D.J. Svihlik as Senior Advisor, Draft HQ. Recently the Scouting Director for the Miami Marlins, Svihlik brings 22 years of scouting experience as he joins to help expand draft expertise across the country with Prep Baseball. + Week six of the ‘College Crosscheck’ had Director of College Scouting David Seifert traveling to the Lone Star State where he caught two inter-conference matchups between C-USA’s Dallas Baptist at Sam Houston State on Friday, March 22, and the SEC’s Texas A&M hosting Mississippi State on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24. Featuring two prospects on Draft HQ’s latest Mock Draft in Texas A&M’s OF Braden Montgomery (10) and Mississippi State’s OF Dakota Jordan (29), see what other draft follows caught Sifert’s attention.

STATE-BY-STATE
Illinois
From Wednesday, March 27 to Saturday, March 30, Prep Baseball Illinois took in the WJOL/Don Ladas Memorial Tournament, featuring four teams within the Power 25. Area Scout, Content Tyler Defibaugh previewed the tournament along with Daily Roundups and Scout Blogs from the rest of the staff.
Mississippi / Tennessee
On Saturday, March 30, Prep Baseball Mississippi and Tennessee will come together and host the North Mississippi/West Tennessee Rising Stars ID Event. The first showcase event for several attending prospects, the Rising Stars ID series in Prep Baseball serves as an opportunity for the classes of 2028 and 2029 to get their introduction and serve as the starting ground to be considered for the Junior Future Games in July at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Georgia. Before the event takes place, Deep South Operations and Area Scout Colin Chamblin previews the upcoming Rising Stars ID.
Virginia
On Saturday, March 30 and Monday, April 1, Prep Baseball Virginia will host the Commonwealth Classic. A single elimination bracket that features eight programs from around the state, the event will take place across three different venues in the area.

Wisconsin
