Chatham Glenwood (12-4; 9-2) blanked Taylorville 6-0 behind a one-hit, 14 strikeout performance from Titan RHP Phil Maton. Maton (5-1) for the second straight game took a no-hitter into the seventh and had it broken up by a leadoff hit, this time a double from Tornado Beau McDonald.
Suburban Christian Nonconference
Aurora Christian (15-3; 6-2 Gold) defeated Plano 9-7 behind Eagle junior Kenny McCracken. McCracken hit a grand-slam and single in the nonconference win over the Reapers. Senior Brent Minta hit a two-run shot and drove home three Eagle runs.
Minta (4-0) allowed one hit and one run is his fine 4 inning performance. Minta fanned a half-dozen Reaper hitters as the Eagles tuned up for Thursday?s big SCC-crossover with Chicago Christian (18-4; 7-2 Blue) in Palos Heights at 4:30.
