Jake Ingold, a power-hitting 3B from Chatham Glenwood HS, has committed to Illinois State University. A four-year starter for the perennial powerhouse Titans, the 5-foot-10, 200-pound Ingold has hit 21 career varsity home runs and counting. This season, Ingold has the No. 9-ranked Titans poised to make another Class 3A state title run, as he’s hitting over .500 with 6 homers, 9 doubles and 27 RBI. As a junior, Ingold helped power the Titans to a Class 3A second-place trophy by hitting .400 with 32 RBI, 6 doubles, 5 homers and 3 triples.
Erik Maki, a junior outfielder from Wauconda HS, has verbally committed to Western Illinois University. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Maki is an impressive physical athlete who possesses left-handed power potential. Maki emerged in the winter as one of the better outfield prospects in the state.
John Coen, a 3B/RHP from Prospect HS, has committed to the University of Illinois-Chicago. The left-handed hitting Coen has been on fire this season for the Knights, as he’s currently hitting .607 with 12 doubles and 17 RBI. On the mound he’s 3-1 so far.
