Evan Jensen, a 2012 catcher and right-handed pitcher from Pickerington Central, has committed to the University of Akron. Jensen, who can play multiple positions, is expected to primarily play catcher at Akron. He shows great potential behind the plate as he registers a 1.9 pop time. At the plate, he uses a short, compact swing from the right side that generates line drive power to all fields. On the mound, he sits 84-87 mph with his fastball. In the summer, Jensen plays for the Ohio Elite.
Ty Amann, a 2012 middle infielder from Cincinnati Moeller, has committed to Ohio University. Amann joins fellow Cincy Flames summer teammate, Alex Corna, as members of the Bobcats recruiting class. The 5-10, 170 pound prospect registers a 6.91 60-yard dash. At the plate, he uses a balanced approach from the left side and projects as a top of the order hitter at the next level. In the field, he is slick fielder who is aggressive to the ball and uses a quick transfer on his throws.
