Jesse Adams, the #20 ranked prospect, committed to Boston College. Adams, who is a standout outfielder and left-handed pitcher from Toledo St. Johns, played his summer baseball with Baseball U out of New Jersey. He joins Nate Pearson as the second Division I commit for Toledo St. Johns.
Caleb Shillace, the #28 ranked prospect, committed to the University of Toledo. Shillace, a product of Keystone High School, put together an impressive summer on the showcase circuit. The 6-foot-4, 210 pound prospect from Northeast Ohio emerged as the top unsigned pitching prospect at the Top Prospect Event. Using a long arm action and a high ¾ arm slot, Shillace showed an easy 87-88 mph fastball. He displayed a curveball that sat at 66-69 mph and showed 11/5 late breaking movement. The lanky right-hander needs to continue developing his changeup, which lacked consistent control while registering at 80-81 mph.
RJ Watters, an athletic outfielder from Columbus Academy, committed to Northwestern. The speedy prospect recently registered a 6.83 60-yard dash and 87 mph from the outfield.
Anthony Asalon, a versatile middle infielder from Cincinnati Elder, committed to the University of Indianapolis. Asalon, a solid defensive prospect, likely projects as a second baseman at the next level.
