Stout, others pick their schools
November 16, 2010
Eric Stout, a 6-foot-2, 160-pound LHP/OF from St. Francis HS, has committed to Butler University. With his loose arm and lanky frame, Stout established himself as one of the more intriguing left-handers in the state over the summer and fall seasons. As a junior, he posted a 5-3 record with a 2.32 ERA. In 54 innings he struck out 62. Stout is also a very good defensive outfielder with a strong arm (85 mph). Offensively, he has a smooth left-handed swing which he used to bat .461 with 11 doubles, 2 triples, 1 homer and 32 RBI. ?
Kurt Kaufman, a 6-foot-2 left-handed hitting OF and RHP from Fremd HS, has committed to the University of Illinois-Springfield. ?
Dan Robinson, a RHP from Sterling HS, has signed with Murray State University. As a junior, Robinson went 3-4 with a 2.71 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 41.1 innings. ?
Trevor Murphy, an athletic OF from Lemont HS, has committed to Southern Illinois University. As a junior, Murphy swiped 11 bases, drove in 15 and scored 21 runs. Murphy marks the third D1 signee from Lemont, joining RHP/OF Josh Ferry (Illinois) and SS Kevin Goergen (Michigan State).
