RHP Nick Jensen-Clagg Commits
July 24, 2011
At the beginning of the summer, Nick Jensen-Clagg, the #10 ranked prospect by PBR in Ohio?s class of 2012, faced an important decision.
As a standout quarterback and a standout pitcher for Pickerington Central High School, he found himself navigating the recruiting process for two sports.
But, when July 1st came around, Jensen-Clagg?s path became a little more clear as he quickly found himself at the top of many school?s recruiting boards for baseball.
With football season quickly approaching, Jensen-Clagg decided to end his recruiting process this week. After receiving interest from Cincinnati, Ohio State, Wright State, UNC Wilmington, Central Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, Miami, and Ohio University, the right-hander committed to Coach Stricklin, Coach Birkbeck, and the Kent State Golden Flashes.
Standing at 6-1, 190 pounds, Clagg is one of the most polished pitchers in the Class of 2012. He features an 85-87 mph fastball that touches up to 89 mph. In addition, he throws a sharp, late-breaking 12/6 curveball as well as a 71-73 mph changeup with excellent fading action.
He becomes the third prospect from Ohio to join Kent State?s 2012 recruiting class, which also includes #14 ranked Curtis Olvey (RHP/IF-Fairfield) and Justin Wagler (RHP/IF-Uniontown Lake).
