RHP Kevin Kline Commits
July 23, 2011
This past winter, Kevin Kline attended his first college prospect camps at the University of Toledo. Up until that point, the Patrick Henry High School right-hander was a rather unknown prospect.
However, once the 6-5, 210 pound right-hander began to throw for Coach Mee and Coach Bradford, his status quickly changed.
Kline, who looks the part of an athletic defensive end, throws from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball, which sits 84-86 and touches into the high 80?s, has substantial arm-side run. He is continuing to refine his curveball and changeup, which lack consistency at times.
After a successful spring season at Patrick Henry High School, Kline hit the summer circuit as a member of the Ohio Elite baseball program.
Despite receiving interest from schools such as Notre Dame, Indiana, Duke, Wright State, Miami, Ohio University, and Georgetown, Kline decided to pull the trigger early for Coach Mee and his hometown favorite, the Toledo Rockets.
He joins fellow Northwestern Ohio prospects, Deion Tansel (IF/Anthony Wayne) and Ryan Callahan (IF/OF/Delta), as members of Toledo?s 2012 recruiting class.
