College commitments from across the state:
Quincy University landed another top-level arm when it received a commitment from Nick Stroud, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound RHP from Mt. Zion HS. Stroud, who’s currently ranked No. 33 in the Class of 2012, features an upper-80s fastball and a power slider. Two weeks ago, Quincy had received a commitment from Teutopolis RHP Mark Niebrugge, a 6-foot-2 RHP who went 7-0 for the Class 2A defending champion Wooden Shoes.
Conner Adamski, a left-handed hitting catcher from Naperville North HS, has committed to Navy. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Adamski possesses a pure left-handed swing and a strong arm behind the plate.
Joel Taylor, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound RHP from Pekin HS, has committed to Illinois Central College. As a junior, Taylor posted a 3-1 record with a 2.95 ERA.
Bryson Jibben, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound LHP/1B from Camp Point Central HS, has committed to Black Hawk College.
Jimmy Doherty, a 2B from Providence Catholic HS, has committed to Benedictine University.
