Nathan Allen, a 2012 RHP from Revere High School in Northeastern Ohio, has committed to the University of Akron. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound right hander becomes newly hired Coach Rick Rembielak?s first commitment at the University of Akron. Allen sits with a mid to high 80?s fastball. He also features a curveball and slider. This summer, he has been playing for the Northern Ohio Hurricanes.
Michael Marsinek, a 2012 LHP from Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit, has committed to Eastern Michigan. He continues in a long line of Walsh Jesuit players who have committed to play Division I college baseball. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound southpaw uses a low to mid 80?s fastball and array of off-speed pitches to keep hitters off balance. This spring, he went 8-0 with a 1.21 ERA. Over 43.7 innings, he struck out 58 batters and gave up 23 walks. Consequently, he was selected as First Team All-Ohio as well as the Pitcher of the Year in the Cuyahoga River Conference. This summer, he has been playing for Neall French and the T3 Pelicans.
