Ty Simpson of Heritage Hills High School gave a verbal commitment to play baseball at Vincennes University beginning fall 2011.  The Blazers are coming off an impressive 2010 NJCAA world series run. 

Simpson is a 6-foot-2, 175 pound right-handed pitcher with a plus arm on the mound.  He has clean arm action and sound mechanics. Simpson throws four pitches for strikes; a mid to upper 80?s fastball, 72 mph curve ball, 68-71 mph split, and a 74 mph change up.  For his summer team last season, Simpson went 7-0 with 1 save.

At the plate Simpson shows great plate awareness.  He possesses a short compact swing, getting the barrel through the hitting zone on time.  Simpson led his team in walks as a Junior, while also hitting well over .300.
