Four more prospects pick schools
January 31, 2011
More Illinois prospects have picked their schools:
Tyler Detmer, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound OF/C from Breese Central HS, has committed to the University of Illinois-Chicago. Detmer is a prolific-passing All-State quarterback who could?ve very well played football at the next level. His athleticism and skill, however, translate just as well on the baseball field. As a junior, Detmer made a name for himself on the diamond when he batted .417 with 45 hits 10 doubles, 3 triples and 26 RBI. He also stole 27 bases and scored 41 runs.
Ryan Aper, a 6-foot, 180-pound OF/RHP from Lincoln Community HS, has committed to Lincoln Land JC. The athletic Aper does it all well on the field. The right-handed hitter, who possesses good speed, a strong arm and excellent instincts in the outfield, batted .412 with 2 home runs for the Railsplitters as a junior. On the mound, the right-hander posted a 6-1 record.
Zachary Wiseman, a 5-foot-10 RHP from De La Salle HS, has committed to Carroll College. Wiseman recently had a strong showing at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in October.
Casey Papp, a catcher from Providence Catholic HS, has committed to Joliet Junior College. Papp should figure to be contributor on Providence?s loaded squad this spring.
