Four more prospects are off the board

Four more Class of 2011 prospects are off the board:

Chris Massimilian, a 5-foot-9, 165-pound switch-hitting OF from Hinsdale South HS, has committed to the University of South Carolina-Upstate in the Atlantic Sun Conference. A three-year varsity performer, Massimilian is a hard-nosed athletic outfielder who does everything on the field well. He is a strong defensive outfielder, as he gets tremendous reads off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Offensively, Massimilian is a switch-hitter who can spray line drives to all fields. As a sophomore, he batted .427 with 14 stolen bases on varsity. ?

Paul DeJong, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound infielder from Antioch HS, has committed to Illinois State University. DeJong missed his sophomore year because of a knee injury sustained in basketball. Determined to make up for lost time, the hard-hitting infielder enjoyed a breakout junior season, then followed it up by earning co-Most Valuable Player honors of the Fall Prospect Program. DeJong, who is a sure-handed defender with a solid arm, was a hitting machine in the fall, seemingly barreling everything that was thrown his way.

Kane Lombardo, a 5-foot-9, 165-pound OF from Nazareth Academy HS, has committed to Lewis University. Lombardo, the leadoff hitter on the Roadrunners? summer state championship squad, is the eighth commitment from Nazareth?s 2011 class. Michael Barajas and 3B Anthony Baldassano are also signed with Lewis University.

Justin Theisen, a 6-foot-5 LHP from Sandburg HS, has committed to Kankakee CC. The physical left-hander should be one of the top pitchers this spring for the perennially strong Eagles.
