Nathan Dorris, who was ranked No. 9 in the Class of 2009, has transferred from Vanderbilt University. The talented 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher from Marion HS is now at Rend Lake Junior College.

 

In high school, Dorris featured arguably the state’s best curveball to go along with an 85-88 mph fastball. Dorris was selected in the 45^th round of the MLB Draft last June by the Atlanta Braves, but opted to attend perennial powerhouse Vanderbilt.

 

In other recruiting news, Eric Sousanes, a MIF from Waubonsie Valley HS, has committed to North Park University.
