Year in Review: No. 6 Bandy Drafted by Kansas City Royals

2016 MIF/OF Luke Bandy was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 32nd round of the MLB Draft with the 973rd pick, last June. Bandy was the only high school player from Arkansas drafted. He opted not to sign professionally and enrolled in Dallas Baptist University in August, where he will compete this spring.
Bandy is one of 22 players that attended PBR Arkansas’s first event hosted October 4th 2014 at Little Rock Christian Academy. Bandy also attended the Top Prospects Games, and All-State Games in Arkansas. His performances earned him an invitation to the Super 60 event in Chicago Illinois. This event is for the top draft eligible players in Prep Baseball Reports Coverage area. This event is scouted by every MLB organization and can be used as a spring board to be drafted. Luke Bandy, MIF, Providence Academy
Bandy is a 6-foot, 175-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. Bandy showed is athleticism running a 6.61 in the 60. Defensively he played through the baseball with solid actions, his hands are a bit stiff. He had a long exchange but really showed off his strong arm with accuracy. Offensively he attacked the baseball with fast bat speed and a slight uphill swing plane. He maintained good balance through to extension.
