Winston-Salem St to Drop Baseball After the 2019 Season

In news that sucks to report, Winston-Salem St will drop their baseball program after the conclusion of the 2019 season . The program was reinstated 9 years ago, but after the CIAA dropped baseball due to a lack of participation, the logistics of running an independent program became daunting. In news reports, the baseball program's budget of over $300,000 will be redistributed to revenue sports at WSSU.
Players that are on the Winston-Salem State roster, that are receiving aid will be able to finish their eligibility at WSSU on the aid they are currently receiving. Players on the roster that decide to transfer to continue their baseball careers will be immediately eligible based on NCAA rules.
Below are players in the PBR system that are currently attending Winston-Salem St. While the coaching staff is dealing with trying to continue to win games to make an NCAA Regional, they will be dealing with schools calling about players, and players looking forward to plan their future.
