Western PA Fall Review Analysis: Class of 2020 Two-way Prospects

The Western PA Fall Review officially began a series of three fall events that will culminate with the Invitation Only Elite Prospect Showcase on October 28. Nearly 30 prospects from two states showcased their abilities at La Roche College on September 9. Today we conclude our analysis of the prospects in attendance at the Western PA Fall Review by taking a look at two-way players from the Class of 2019 in attendance.

CLASS OF 2020
Mitchell Grosch, 3B/RHP, Warren Area HS (PA)
5-foot-8, 160-pound primary infielder showcased a well rounded skill set with present strength in his frame. The right-handed hitter displayed a short swing path from a square stance with balance through extension. Barreled the baseball consistently during batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 85 mph and went 2-for-8 in game action. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash and showcased solid carry on throws of 79 mph across the diamond from third base. Impressed on the mound sitting 75-77 out of an over the top arm slot. Utilized a curveball with tight 12/6 rotation as an out pitch to record six strikeouts in three innings of work while allowing just one infield single.
William Jamison, 3B/RHP, Shaler Area HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 170-pound primary infielder displayed 76 mph arm strength across the diamond and capable glove work. Additional work to play through the baseball and better utilize his backside in his throwing motion should allow Jamison to stay at third base at the next level. Ran a 7.91 60-yard dash and registered a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. The right-handed hitter starts from a narrow, slightly open stance and utilizes a leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Demonstrated a pull oriented swing with an ability to create some backspin in batting practice. Righty sat 74-75 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with a side rocker step to start his delivery. Also utilized a curveball at 63-65 with 11/5 rotation during three innings of work, allowing just one hit.
Jorge Leedham, RHP/SS, Hickory HS (PA)
6-foot, 180-pound primary pitcher flashed a live arm out of a high 3/4 arm slot sitting 78-80 while topping at 82 mph. Fastball displayed some arm side run and 61 mph changeup was thrown with similar arm speed. Also displayed a slider at 63-64 and a looping curveball at 57-58. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace swing. Swing dominated by upper half action resulted in consistent line drives in batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash and displayed 79 mph arm strength across the diamond defensively.
Ryan Rafalski, RHP/SS, Warren Area HS (PA)
5-foot-8, 140-pound primary pitcher sat sat 76-78 from a 3/4 arm slot with some hip coil to his delivery that adds deception. Also pounded the zone with a 11/5 breaking curveball at 63-65 and a changeup with good arm speed at 65-66. Strike thrower displayed confidence in all three pitches allowing just two hits while striking out three batters. Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a flat, long barrel path that led to a 79 mph bat exit velocity. Ran a 7.97 60-yard dash and showcased accurate 77 mph arm strength from his middle infield position.
William Uberti, LHP/OF, Elk County Catholic HS (PA)
5-foot-7, 135-pound primary pitcher sat 71-73 from a high 3/4 arm slot with some cut to his fastball. Repeatable delivery with balance throughout begins with a side rocker and finishes in athletic fielding position. Also utilized a 1/7 breaking curveball at 62-65 during three innings of work with just one hit allowed. Right-handed hitter starts from a wide, slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a short lift-and-replace stride. A deep, high-hands load leads to barrel drag with a one-hand finish through the zone. Registered an 83 mph bat exit velocity and ran an 8.02 60-yard dash. Showcased the ability to play through the baseball routinely from his outfield position with straight line carry on throws of 77 mph.
