First basemen
Grant Hussey, Parkersburg South HS, Class of 2021
Hussey played this fall for the Appalachian Aces. Facing pitchers much older, he not only held hisown, but swung the bat well to the tune of a .340 average with 1 home run and 3 extra base hits. Defensively, Hussey (West Virginia commit) showed solid footwork around the bag to go along with an above average lateral mobility. His hands are soft and his glove presentation is solid.
Offensively, he displayed a low effort swing that created huge pop off his barrel. Hussey registered a 95 mph exit velocity of the tee which was second best for the event. He seems to get better every time he shows up to an event. Hussey also recorded a personal best 6.90-60. Overall, he is one of the top prospects at 1B not only in West Virginia, but the entire country in the 2021 Class.
William Wiseman, Riverside HS, Class of 2020
Offensively, Wiseman initiates his swing out of a slightly open, neutral position. Wiseman creates good energy and torque through a solid core and hip turn. Wiseman displayed a solid exit velocity of 84 mph off the tee. Wiseman ran a 7.75 - sixty.
Defensively, Wiseman displayed a average glove along with a long throwing motion to third base. Wiseman did display solid footwork around the bag to go along with a 74 mph velocity across the infield.
Tyler Wilkinson, Bridgeport HS, Class of 2020
Offensively, Wilkinson initiates his swing out of a neutral athletic stance. Wilkinson distributes his weight well from back to front in his swing. Wilkinson's smooth hands help him create good bat speed and a 80 mph velocity was recorded off of the tee. Wlkinson ran a 7.75 - sixty.
Defensively, Wilkinson fields the ball in the middle of his body and out front in an athletic position. Footwork is not an issue as he handles himself well around the bag. A 74 mph velocity across the diamond was recorded.
