Tujetsch Flirts with No-No as Ardrey Kell Hangs on at South Meck
Trey Tujetsch was brilliant for 5 innings keeping South Mecklenburg at bay in a conference match-up on Friday night. Ardrey Kell staked Tujetsch to an early lead, capitalizing on several defensive miscues to score 5 runs in the first on two hits.
After the first, South Meck starter, Alex Fenton settled in keeping the Knights offense off the board. In the 6th, with the leadoff hitter reaching on a dropped third strike, Andrew Motsinger dropped down a drag bunt single, busting up the no-no and giving South Meck a chance to mount a rally. The Sabres would plate 3, cutting the lead to 5-3.
Ardrey Kell would add one in the 7th and Sunkalp Doshi would punch 3 in 1.2 innings of work to secure the save and 6-3 win.

Providence and Townsend Pitch Past East Forsyth
On Saturday, two teams with a rich history and lofty goals for 2018 matched up in an inter-regional contest where East Forsyth HS travelled to Providence HS. Senior righty, Tim Townsend was dominant in stretches keeping the Eagle bats off balance. Defensively, Providence played with athleticism, backing up the efforts of their senior on the bump.
East Forsyth scored first, an RBI single from SS Connor Norby. Providence quickly answered in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from Jake Benoit. The Panthers would add single runs in each of the next two innings, being extremely aggressive on the bases.
Staked to the lead, Townsend would only face two over the minimum from the 2nd inning through the 7th. A 90 pitch gem, Townsend induced 10 ground balls and punched 8.
