In 2023, our staff would like to take a look at a Virginia/DC high school team that had a big week and earned the honor of Team Of The Week.

This week the award goes to the Tuscarora Huskies. Tuscarora swept through the Dulles District Tournament last week, going 3-0 and running their season record to 20-3. In Monday's win against a tough Loudoun County team, junior lefty Brendan Cowen (Virginia Tech) outdueled County senior lefty Corey Costello (East Carolina). The Huskies then beat a scrappy tough Broad Run team in the semifinals and defeated Heritage in the Championship game on Friday night as Orion Marshall threw a No-Hitter in the win.

On Tuesday night, Tuscarora added another win as they came from behind to beat Kettle Run 3-1 and advance to the Region 4C Championship game against James Wood, also clinching a State Tournament berth.
