Scouting Report
VA Unsigned Senior Games 8/9/17
Projectable, athletic frame with room to add on at 6-foot-1, 168-pound. Controlled side step rocker delivery with tempo. Good leg kick with some hip load as he works down to out. Lands with slight cross body action toward the hitter. Keeps posture at release. Creates some arm speed with a loose arm action throwing from a high three quarter slot while pitching with light effort. Gets average lower half involvement, like to see bit more backside intent through release. Fastball has natural run action on the pitch up to 79 mph. Change up is a good pitch with fastball arm speed and dive and pull to the pitch at 71 mph. Breaking ball has short 2/8 shape on the pitch with gradual break. Gets sweeping at times that ranges from 73-75mph. More in this tank with young frame and easy arm. One to keep an eye on.
2.11.17: Nathan is 6-0 with an athletic frame, throws from a drop and drive delivery from a low three-quarters arm slot, long wrap arm action with normal effort. Shoulders uphill and on line, strides to closed landing with slight fall of finish. Fastball was 76-78 with heavy run. Change-up was 70-72 with sink and good armspeed. Curveball had late 2/8 break and was 67-69.
