After a busy spring and summer of evaluating prospects, PBR Pennsylvania has updated and expanded the Class of 2014 rankings. This class has been very active this summer and has shown to be a deep group. We have added 15 new players to the list and will definitely be adding more following the Underclass Games in September and the Top Prospect Games in October. Those who have not made it into the rankings as of yet will likely use the fall events to showcase their abilities and push for thier place in the list of the top prospects in the state.

Moving into the No. 1 ranking is Blackhawk LHP, Brendan McKay. McKay is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound left who jumped to the top of many college coaches wish lists with a stellar performance at the Prep Baseball Report Midwest Future Games. McKay dominated hitters from three states in his four innings of work while at the event, strikiing out eight batters in the process. McKay has the willingness and the ability to throw any of his pitches in any count. He works both sides of the plate equally well and left hitters mumbling to themselves as they returned to the dugout at the University of Illinois. McKay throws an 86mph fastball, 76mph changeup and a nasty 74mph curveball.

Moving up to the No. 2 spot is Liam Sabino, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound shortstop from Blair Academy. Sabino is a gifted shortstop who has a striking resemblance to Derek Jeter. Sabino runs a 6.9 60-yard dash and has a strong arm (82mph across the infield). His glove work and range at shortstop are exceptional.

At No. 3 is Norwin SS/3B, J.J. Matijevic. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound hitting machine put together a dream season in high school baseball this past spring when he was named section player of the year. Matijevic has plus power and will likely make a permanent switch to a corner infield position moving forward.

Rounding out the Top 10 are Chestnut Hill Academy OF Zach Jankarski at No. 4, Bloomsburg RHP Colton Hock at No. 5, Greensburg Salem outfielder Maz Ponzurick at No. 6, Neumann-Goretti 1B Josh Ockimey at No. 7, State College LHP Nick Raquet at No. 8, Bristol catcher Dylan Evert at No. 9 and Minersville catcher Aaron Fritz at No. 10.
