This week’s update to the Power 25 sees McCracken County continuing its grip on the No. 1 spot, but beyond that, a big shakeup with three new teams entering the top five.
LCA continues their meteoric rise up the rankings. The Eagles first checked into the Power 25 two weeks ago at No. 20. Last week saw them rise to the No. 12 spot on the strength of a 4-0 week. Three more wins last week, including one over Madison Central, has the Eagles climbing another ten spots to take over the No. 2 ranking. At 17-3, LCA hasn’t lost since April 2 on their trip to Florida.
With a record of 19-4, and coming off a solid 5-3 win over Highlands, Madison Central climbs to its highest spot in the Power 25 this spring at No. 3.
Speaking of Highlands, the Bluebirds also climb to their highest spot in the rankings at No. 4. Highlands has run off 13 wins in their last 14 games to sit at 17-4 on the season.
St. Xavier rounds out the top five. At 17-7, the Tigers, as they always do, have played one of the toughest schedules in the state.
Here is a look at the full updated Power 25.
