Updated Kentucky Power 25 Team Rankings

Last week featured some very good match-ups, especially at the Louisville Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday.  The tourney featured games all around the city of Louisville and showed us games that could be a preview of things to come later in the season.

Here's a little sample of what took place: PRP lost to Henderson County but beat Woodford County who beat Henderson County but lost to Trinity.

What about this one?  Male beat Central Hardin who lost to Lexington Catholic who beat Male.

Got it all figured out?  Yeah, me too.

What is certainly clear is St. Xavier continues to beat everyone in the state.  The Tigers only loss in the last 5 weeks came at the hands of Floyd Central (IN) who needed a six-run seventh inning to win 8-7.  Oh, by the way, Floyd Central happens to be 18-0 and ranked No.1 in the PBR Indiana Power 25.

Despite two one-run losses this weekend to Male and Lexington Catholic, Central Hardin remains in the No.2 spot.  The Bruins have been consistent all year, and a couple of one-run losses to very good teams didn't merit a drop in the rankings this week.

PRP moves up two places to the No.3 spot.  After starting the season 6-3, the Panthers have won 12 of 13 games are playing their best baseball of the season.

Henderson County has skyrocketed up the rankings the last 3 weeks when they sat at 8-5 and had dropped to No.22 in the Power 25.  The Colonels have won 12 of 13 games since and now sit in the No.4 spot.

Lexington Catholic jumps 3 spots to No.5 with wins over Central Hardin and Male and now stand at 17-6 on the year.

Other notable items:

Bullitt East remains in the No.9 spot at 23-1, and with games in the next 11 days against PRP, Male, and St.Xavier, will have a big opportunity to move up in the rankings.

Collins took it on the chin over the weekend with losses to St.Xavier, Tates Creek, and DuPont Manual.  After starting the season 20-0, the Titans have now lost 4 of their last 6 games and fell this week to No.12.

South Laurel continues its climb up the rankings after entering a few weeks ago.  They climbed 4 spots this week to No.14 with a 16-3 record.

Paducah Tilghman, Apollo, Mercer County, and Adair County are all new entrants in the rankings.
