Updated Illinois Power 25 Team Rankings

The IHSA playoffs begin today for Class 3A/4A and are in full swing for Class 1A/2A. 4A Neuqua Valley (31-1-1) once again went undefeated on the week and remains at No. 1 for the second straight week.
Below is a breakdown of the what happened over the past week.

CLIMBING
+ St. Rita (27-8) - Rose to No. 2 after a 4-1 week. The Mustangs won the Steven Bajenski Memorial Tournament Championship this past Sunday, defeating No. 4 St. Laurence 1-0. Three of the four wins on the week were over St. Laurence, Mt. Carmel and Providence.
+ O’Fallon (30-4) - The Panthers moved into the Top 5 and hit the 30-win mark after a 5-0 week. O’Fallon knocked off the Southwest Conference leader Belleville West 6-4 on Tuesday.
+ St. Charles North (28-4) - The North Stars swept a three-game set against city rival St. Charles East by the scores of 7-2, 5-1, 5-3.
+ Mount Carmel (26-9) - The Caravan went 4-1 on the week with wins over Lockport, Oak Park-River Forest, Bremen and then No. 2 Brother Rice. Now No. 12 in the Power 25.
+ Huntley (28-5) - Swept a two-game set against Prairie Ridge and defeated Crystal Lake South 2-0. The pitching staff gave up two runs in three games.
SINKING
+ Brother Rice (26-9) - Went 2-2 on the week. The Crusaders shut out Marian Catholic and Marist in the two wins. Lost to St. Laurence 3-1 and Mount Carmel 5-4.
+ Plainfield South (22-9-1) - The Cougars dropped a couple of spots after a 1-2 week. The Cougars needed to win 1-of-2 games against Minooka to win the Southwest Prairie conference title but lost both 6-5 and 12-9.
+ Crystal Lake South (28-5) - Went 2-2 on the week with all four games being against Power 25 opponents. Won 2-of-3 against No. 19 Cary-Grove and lost to No. 14 Huntley 2-0.
+ Sacred Heart-Griffin (26-7) - The Cyclones went 2-2 on the week and dropped six spots. Lost a two-game set against Rochester 4-2 and 4-1.
NEW TO THE POWER 25
+ Minooka (22-10) - Jumped to No. 15 in the Power 25 after a 3-1 week. The Indians won the Southwest Prairie Conference regular season title thanks to a two-game sweep against Plainfield South last week. The Southwest Prairie is arguably one of the three toughest conferences in the state this season.
